The first volume of this long-standing diocesan book series was published in 1933, and thirteen volumes appeared regularly until 1950. This was followed by a hiatus lasting several decades, with the 14th volume of the series only being printed in 1987. Edited by J\u00f3zsef K\u00f6rmendy, director of the archives, a total of four volumes were added to the series, followed by another volume edited by Istv\u00e1n Hermann at the end of 2007, and the series has continued to expand ever since. The volumes are organized around three major themes. Several volumes deal with the lives of important bishops of Veszpr\u00e9m (e.g., Ott\u00f3 Volkra Ker. J\u00e1nos, M\u00e1rton Pad\u00e1nyi Bir\u00f3, J\u00e1nos Ranolder); another part of the volumes presents the history of individual institutions located in the diocese (e.g., the provostry of Fels\u0151\u00f6rs, the Pauline monastery in Nagyjen\u0151\u2013T\u00fcskev\u00e1r); and the series also undertakes to publish diocesan sources (e.g. 16th\u201318th century church visitation records, chapter statutes).<\/p>\n
